When humongous amount of money is spent on development, it becomes imperative to look for evidence of changes in the lives of people that the development intervention has made. With increasing focus on ‘results on ground’, development effectiveness, accountability and above all attribution of the change to development intervention have brought rigorous impact evaluation at the centre of evaluation practice. The current scenario provides a unique opportunity to explore the application of theory, evidence-policy interface and practice of Impact Evaluation in South Asian context.In this context, the Second Evaluation Conference for South Asia is being organized by Sambodhi Research Communications on April 29, 2011 in New Delhi. The theme of the conference is “Impact Evaluation Praxis”. The conference would seek synergies from leading development actors and practitioners for perspective building, knowledge sharing and furthering the practice of Impact Evaluation in South Asia. The Inaugural edition of the conference in July 2010 saw participation of around 200 delegates representing practitioners, academicians and users of evaluation from South Asia. The conference provided a unique opportunity for the evaluation theorists, practitioners and users to share, learn, network and dialogue on Impact Evaluation Praxis in South Asia.

Objectives
In consonance with the theme of the conference, the key objectives of the conference would be:

§  To enhance understanding of the theory and practice of Impact Evaluation
§  To sensitize on state-of-art methods of Impact Evaluation
§  To initiate dialogue on evidence-policy interface

Who should attend?
The event solicits participation from all the actors engaged in evaluation theory, practice and use. With cross-sectoral focus, the conference would seek participation of academicians, researchers, students, evaluation practitioners, programme managers, independent consultants and policy-makers.
